Lily loves to feed herself! She kept grabbing the spoon as I tried to feed her, so instead of struggling with that I gave it to her. I thought she just wanted to play with it, so I grabbed myself another spoon so that she could bang hers around while I fed her. But every time I fed her she followed by putting her spoon in her mouth. So I thought, why don't I just put the food on her spoon? So I did. And surprisingly she fed herself!! (with some assistance from mommy)
She ended her meal with half an ounce of breastmilk from a cup. She LOVED drinking from a cup. I remember in the hospital when she was born, the nurse showed Ashish and I how to cup feed her just in case she rejected breastfeeding. Even the nurse was shocked how neat and clean Lily lapped it up. She literally didn't spill a drop both then and now.
A successful lunch today.
